Why Church Membership Matters
Classes on October 1, 15, and 22 at 10:30 AM in the church’s library
Church membership is not about privileges like assigned pews, having a say in important church decisions, or getting to the front of the line at potluck suppers. Rather it is a call to participate as part of a fellowship of followers of Jesus Christ who seek to make the world more like the Kingdom of God.”
The Rev. Wilfried Nausner expressed it this way, “The task of any particular church and its members is to form the body of Christ...Nobody can love the church in general or the universal church. It has always to be our neighbor that comes first.” The Baldwinsville First United Methodist Church will be welcoming new members on November 12. Dave Horan is leading a short course for those who would like to know more about the United Methodist Church and our own church community. The course is not required for membership, yet may answer any questions you may have.
Childcare is available in the church’s nursery. If you are interested in joining the class and/or interested in membership, please see Rev. Walz, Dave Horan, or call the office at 315-635-6442, Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
