UNITED METHODIST WOMEN United Methodist Women are comprised of any women who commit themselves to the organization. Local units relate directly to district and conference organizations of United Methodist Women. All women and teens of the church are invited to attend the happenings of the UMW. The “purpose” of United Methodist Women is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. In our local group we have two circles. These circles help to carry out mission work. Hannah Susana Circle meets the second Wednesday of the month at 9:30AM for fellowship and a meeting at 10:00AM. Sarah Circle meets the second Thursday of the month at 1:00PM. Both groups meet in the dining room. Our United Methodist Women make monetary donations to different organizations in our area.. We also contribute to groups outside of our area. Currently we are sewing clothes for children in Haiti. One of the projects we do locally is to sponsor the consignment sale which is held in our church. The current president of our local UMW is Beverly Frank. Hannah Susanna Circle is led by Joyce Ramseyer. Sarah Circle is led by Lorraine Sahm. |
