For almost 50 years, the Baldwinsville Christmas Bureau has provided needy families in our community with toys, clothing, books, food and household items. We depend on local businesses, churches, school groups, organizations and individuals to help make the holidays a little brighter for those not as fortunate as ourselves.
This year we need your help more than ever. The Baldwinsville Christmas Bureau is no longer able to benefit from the Toys for Tots program. After participating in the program for many years, we have been informed that all Toys for Tots collected will go to the Onondaga County Christmas Bureau in Syracuse, even if the toys are collected here in Baldwinsville.
Any size donation is appreciated to help our local families. To list just a few examples: $10 donation could buy a pair of warm socks or pajamas; $25 could buy a requested toy for a child; $50 donation could purchase a winter coat or boots; $100 could provide food for a family of four for almost a week.
Another way to help is to add an extra can of food or box of cereal to your weekly grocery buying. Thank you so much for any help you can give. Please make checks payable to the Baldwinsville Volunteer Center and note “Christmas Bureau” in the memo area. They can be mailed to our office at 8 Mechanic St., Baldwinsville. Donation drop off at our site in the former Olympia Sports storefront next to TOPS grocery store off Downer Street in Baldwinsville. We will begin accepting donations on Monday, November 26 and end on Saturday, December 15th. Please call me with any and all questions! (315-727-5435)
